Police spokesman Gambo Isah in a statement, said the victims were all females aged between 19 and 32, adding that they are from Lagos, Edo, Ondo, Kaduna, Ogun, and Enugu states.
According to the statement;
On September 29, at about 1600hrs, based on credible intelligence, the command raided a criminal hideout at the Daura Local Government Area, and rescued the 9 victims of human trafficking.
The police spokesman also said that in the course of the investigation, the victims said they were conveyed from Kano State to Daura by a driver, who on sighting the police team, abandoned them and took to his heels.
They claimed they were en route to Libya, through the Niger Republic
Isah confirmed that a manhunt is on for the fleeing suspect.
