REPS CONSTITUTE 7- MAN COMMITTEE ON ELECTORAL ACT

Nigeria’s House of Representatives has set up a Conference Committee, to harmonise the positions on the Electoral Act Amendments Bill with its upper legislative chamber, the Senate.
Speaker of the house of representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, who announced during Tuesday’s plenary, said that the conference Committee will carry out its legislative duty to address the Grey areas, particularly on Electronic transmission of results by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The members include Hon. Akeem Adeyemi (chairman),Hon. James Faleke, Hon. Chris Azubogu, Hon. Blessing Onu, Hon. Aishat Duku, Hon. Unyime Idem,
Hon. Abdullahi Kalambaina.
Both chambers of the national assembly had in July, passed different versions of Section 52 subsection 3 of the electoral act amendment which has to do with the electronic transmission of results by INEC.
