The ongoing case of Afrobeat Singer, Seun Kuti at the Yaba magistrate court in Lagos was stalled today, Monday, due to the absence of the chief Magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun, who is reportedly on administrative leave.
When Raypower spoke with the legal counsel for the defendant, it was disclosed that the case had been adjourned to the 27th of September, 2023 for continuation.
On the last adjourned date, the Magistrate foiled attempts by the police to prosecute the defendant requesting the advise of the director of Public Prosecutions before proceeding with the case.
Legal counsel for the defendant, Femi Falana had also objected to the prosecution’s intention to arraign Kuti.
Afrobeat maestro, Seun Kuti, the son of Fela Kuti the King of Afrobeat was arrested over a viral video that saw him assaulting a police officer on the third mainland bridge, Lagos, sometime in May.
