Seun Kuti to spend another twenty-four hours in custody

Afro beat singer, Seun Kuti is to spend another twenty-four hours in custody of the police following the absence of presiding magistrate, Adeola Olatunbosun who was scheduled to give ruling granting him bail this Tuesday.
The musician who has since been returned to the custody of the police at the criminal investigation department, Panti Yaba is now scheduled to be in court on Wednesday, the 24th of May for bail.
Chief Magistrate Olatunbosun in a ruling, last Thursday had given the police additional four days to conclude all investigations on the afro beat singer following his assault on a police officer.
Meanwhile some human rights activists and civil society organizations have called on the judiciary to uphold the rule of law by ensuring the immediate release of the Afrobeat singer.
The Protesters who converged in front of the Yaba Magistrate Court following the adjournment of the case of assault against Seun condemned his continued detention after meeting all bail conditions.
