SUSPECTED HERDSMEN DESTROY MULTIPLE FARMLANDS WITH GROWN CROPS IN PLATEAU COMMUNITY.

No fewer than 20 farmlands with different grown crops have been destroyed in Iregwi Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

The latest attacks on farmlands, which took place on Monday, July 26 was carried out in Nchetahu village, Kpatenvie Miango District, Irigwe Chiefdom, Bassa Local Government area.

When contacted, the Plateau State Police Command through its Spokesperson ASP Gabriel Ubah, denied knowledge of the said destruction of farmlands, however, a community leader Davidson Malison, who confirmed the Development to ait.live accused suspected herdsmen for the latest attacks on farmlands in their community.

Grown crops destroyed in the latest attacks on farmlands on Monday include Maize, Irish potatoes and pepper, popularly known as Barkonun Miango among others.

One of the victims, an elderly woman who was seen crying in her destroyed farmland called on Government’s intervention urgently.
