Terrorists operating in Jibiya forest in Katsina State have launched an attack on a Nigeria Customs Service checkpoint called ‘Mil Takwas’ along Jibiya-Katsina road, killing one person and burning down 3 operational patrol vehicles belonging to the Customs and Immigration Services in addition to a privately owned motor vehicle.
A source in the area who pleaded anonymity told our reporter that, the attack was carried out in the early hours of Monday, May 30, between the hours of 1 am and 2 am when the terrorists in their large numbers on motorcycles stormed the checkpoint.
The Katsina Customs area command Public Relations Officer, Danbaba Isa who confirmed the attack to our reporter said, no life was lost, but a passenger in a commercial vehicle was injured during the attack.
He said the command has already gone to the village for an on-the-spot assessment of what actually happened.
Jibiya, a town on the border with the Niger Republic is one of the most terrorized Local Government Areas in Katsina State.
