Residents of Gusau in Zamfara state are pleading for the restoration of mobile communications and internet services in the capital city, which has seen economic activities grind to a halt for three straight weeks.
The state had been on a communication lockdown following security operations against bandits, but this has adversely impacted businesses which depend on telecom services
Friday, September 24 makes it exactly three weeks since Telecom services were shut down in Zamfara State, to tackle the bandits and their collaborators
Residents of the state, particularly, those who do online businesses are the most impacted by the shutting down of telecom services.
They are appealing to the government to at least, restore services to Gusau, the Zamfara State capital, to enable them to fend for their families.
Many have exhausted their little savings and they tell AIT even the funds to run their business are now being depleted
While they are in full support of the crackdown on bandits, they want a review of the measure to alleviate the hardship which they are inadvertently suffering.
