Nigeria’s Ultimate Fighting Championship Middleweight Champion Israel Adesanya quest to achieve a two division belt suffered a set back after he lost via unanimous decision to Light Heavyweight Champion, Polish Jan Blachowicz in the Main Event of UFC 259 at the APEX Arena in Las Vegas, United States of America.
Adesanya was aiming to emulate Four UFC Greats ; Connor MacGregor, the first to achieve it in 2016,, two American, Daniel Cormier and Henry Cejudo with the only woman being Brazilian Amanda Nunes who defended her ninth Championship in the Co-Main Event of the ninth.

Adesanya was the better fighter in the early stage of the clash but his lack of weight gain was a big factor in the loss to the Polish Champion who wrestled and wore out the Nigerian on the canvass in the closing stage of the bout with his more heavier mass.
“The Pride of Poland” as Blachowicz is called, utilised his dominant advantage on top of his smaller challenger to inflict clean blows on his head and face.
Adesanya who still holds his middleweight title is not giving up on his quest as he told renowned UFC interviewer Joe Rogan that despite the setback, he will still make a return at becoming a two-division Champion by winning the Light Heavyweight Belt in the future.
