UK , TO SUPPORT NASARAWA STATE’S USE OF GAS AND SOURCES TO POWER ITS TRANSPORT COMPANY

The British High Commissioner, Catriona Laing, says the United Kingdom will support Nasarawa State’s goal of utilising gas and solar sources of power for the Nasarawa State transportation company and other areas to boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
Catriona Laing made the pledge after her two days visit to Nasarawa State.
She commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for translating his administration’s vision into concrete benefits for the people of the state.
The British High Commissioner to Nigeria noted that a big challenge confronting states in Nigeria is translating vision into practical results.
She commended the Sule administration on his innovative projects such as the Karu, Lafia mega bus terminals expected to promote the safety of passengers, decongest traffic, and improve the basic transportation system in the state.

Laing said the quality of projects is a clear signal why the state was ranked third in the country as a top investment destination, having attracted over 350 million dollars in FDI and improved in it’s Internal Revenue.
Governor Sule noted that his administration is ready and willing for the partnership with UK so as to develop the state.
The British High Commissioner was taken on a state tour to partake of the state’s rich cultural heritage, the durbar, and to see work at the rice mill and the Shabu cassava processing centre.
She also undertook tours of selected local industries within Lafia the state capital.
