WAFu b women championship: Nigeria’s Falconets defeat Togo 6-0, off to semifinals

Nigeria’s U20 women’s national team, the Falconets have advanced to the semifinals of the U20 WAFU B women’s championship following their 6-0 thrashing of Togo in the second group game played at the Baba Yara stadium in Kumasi Ghana.
A brace by Amina Bello and Flourish Sabastine with a goal each from Esther Onyenezide and Opeyemi Ajakaye ensured the Christopher Danjuma led team secured their spot in the quarterfinals with one game to spare.
The win puts Nigeria firmly at the top of Group B with six points and a thirteen-goal difference.
The competition will see Chris Danjuma’s side take on Burkina Faso in their final group game on Sunday.
The regional WAFU B U-20 for girls competition, is the gateway for the Falconets to qualify for the CAF U20 WAFCON.
Winning the tournament will ensure the girls heads to the Continental Competition.
