Women Affairs minister to establish mobile courts against FGM, SGBV

The Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye has kicked off engagement with the offices of the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, the Inspector-General of Police and relevant Organizations to establish mobile courts to try suspects involved in female genital mutilation and sexual and gender-based violence
The minister said the move is part of her administration’s plan to renew the war against perpetrators the heinous crimes in the country
She said the move will create a conducive atmosphere for women to thrive in their normal b in their motherland.
The Minister seeks the support of human rights organizations to end the suffering of Nigerian women and children especially the scourge of female genital mutilation and child marriage.
