ZAMFARA GOVERNOR GIVES BANDITS TWO MONTHS TO SURRENDER

Zamfara State Governor Bello Mohammed has given the recalcitrant bandits two months within to surrender their weapons and embrace the state government’s amnesty or face the full wrath of the law.

The governor gave the ultimatum to the bandits during his statewide broadcast, concerning the ongoing efforts by the state government to eradicate banditry and its attendant consequences.

He has also banned two passengers on a motorcycle, as well as motorcycles moving in groups in the state.

The measures are parts of efforts to address the prevailing insecurity in the State.

Governor Mohammed warned politicians to desist from actions and utterances, capable of escalating the security situation in Zamfara State.

He disclosed that the Federal Government is to deploy 6,000 troops to Zamfara, to reinforce the fight against insecurity in the state and its neighbours.

Governor Bello Mohammed directed the traditional rulers and local government administrators to remain in their domains and monitor suspicious persons that may come into their communities.
