The Chairman of the Zamfara State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP), Colonel Bala Mande, retired has described the move by the State lawmakers to impeach the Deputy Governor, Mahadi Gusau baseless and malicious.
He stressed that there is a subsisting court order stopping them when they had earlier attempted to impeach him.
He recalled that no one has vacated the court order.
The PDP helmsman was speaking shortly after the party’s consultative meeting in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital.
He was reacting to the document which the Deputy Speaker and Chairman House Committee on Public Accounts, Musa Bawa submitted to the State Assembly for impeachment last Friday.
The lawmaker accused the Deputy Governor, Mahadi Gusau of the breach of the constitution, abuse of office and financial fraud.
The PDP Chairman said the only credible threat the ruling All Progressives Congress, (APC) in the state is facing, is the towering personality and acceptance of the Deputy Governor, Mahadi Gusau by the people of the state and beyond.
He said the Deputy Governor is still with them in the PDP and has no intention whatsoever to leave the party.
A stakeholder, Na’Allah Mayans said he has come to consult with the PDP on how they can wrest power from the ruling APC and take Zamfara State out of the woods.
The PDP pledged to partner with concerned citizens of Zamfara State to work out a rescue mission for the state.
